(Tulita, NT)
A local home experienced a significant electrical fire that started in the porch, resulting in significant smoke and water damage throughout the home, and leaving the property without power, water, or heat. Cornerstone was awarded the contract to deliver a full restoration of the property, which included:

ordering, supplying, and delivering all materials to the fly-in community of Tulita
-
comprehensive electrical inspections to ensure safety and conductivity

structural levelling of the house

complete interior and exterior renovations, including:

Structural repairs
-
Rebuilding exterior porches, stairs, and doors

Installation of new windows
-
Replacement of interior doors, flooring, bathroom and kitchen fixtures

Upgrades to lighting, heating, water systems, and plumbing

drywall installation, painting, and modern fixture upgrades
Within approximately 60 days, the unit was fully restored and made livable following comprehensive electrical, plumbing, structural, and interior/exterior renovations.

When Ledcor began construction of the Mackenzie Valley fibre optic line, they needed more than equipment rentals --they needed a partner who could deliver innovative, tailor-made solutions. Cornerstone collaborated closely with the client to design a custom erosion control system that safeguarded the fibre optic line fill.

Husky Energy Oil Exploration Programs

Project Scope:
Husky Energy executed an oil exploration program in a remote, off-grid location at Slater River in the Northwest Territories. The project required robust logistical and operational support to overcome challenges such as harsh winter conditions, limited infrastructure, and the need for reliable transportation on winter roads. The scope included maintaining safe and efficient operations for personnel and equipment in an isolated environment.

Emergency Flood Watch Project
(Tulita, NT)
The Hamlet of Tulita, situated along the Mackenzie River, faces seasonal flooding during spring breakup, which threatens residential areas and poses environmental risks from overturned fuel tanks. Recognizing these unique challenges, Cornerstone developed a tailored flood watch plan in close coordination with the Hamlet’s emergency response team.
Our customized approach included:

Proactive fuel management: Draining and safely storing fuel from residential tanks to prevent contamination.

Rapid response readiness: Maintaining standby equipment (pumps, trailers, skid steers) for immediate relocation of tanks to higher ground.
